Mattel, after their purchase of Tyco, continued the packaged car tradition for a short period of time. Available both as hobby shop stock and discount toy store stock these are still a popular item. Unfortunately Mattel has decided to discontinue the production of individual packaged cars. This has seen the demise of the twin pack.
