The 1992 DTM season once again saw the iconic Orange of the Jägermeister liquor brand adorning this time a pair of BMW E30 M3s. For 1992 the Linder Motorsport team ran under the Jägermeister banner and fielded the then state of the art E30 Sport Evolution models. These featured a larger 2.5L engine capacity, as well as modified aerodynamics and wheels, in an effort to keep up with the V8 Audis and powerful AMG Mercedes.
The 1992 season wasn’t the most successful for Linder, but they gained a lot of publicity towards the end of the season when they ran Australian Motorbike racing legend Wayne Gardner in a number of rounds alongside Armin Hahne, their regular driver. Gardner scored a best result of 14th, with Hahne managing a pair of 10th place finishes.
In the ultra-competitive world of the mid 1990s DTM this was no mean feat. Today the fame of these cars lives on due to that iconic and fantastic Jägermeister Orange livery.
