The track-locking system utilizes a spring-loaded red plastic bar.  The bars are slipped into the two outer notches or pockets in the track. Slide the two track sections together and they will automatically lock.

Please note that the older u-shaped clips are for the older 4-tab track.  The new clip can also be used as a clip to secure the inner and outer lanes of multi-lane tracks together.
