They depict soldiers from an anti-aircraft artillery crew belonging to the Luftwaffe in Rommel’s famed Africa Corps. These men were usually assigned to an 88mm gun and in fact required to take on not only airborne targets but also heavily armored land vehicles such as the Matilda and M3 tanks.
